The work of the fourth session of the Syrian Constitutional Committee kicks off in Geneva

The co-chair of the Constitutional Committee, Hadi al-Bahra, with the participation of members of the Negotiating Committee’s representatives in the mini-committee, held a preparatory meeting for the first session yesterday with the Special International Envoy to Syria, Geir Pedersen, his deputy, Khawla Matar, and a number of members of his team.

During the meeting, Al-Bahra affirmed the readiness and readiness of the representatives of the commission to work positively and make an effort to achieve the completion of the work of the commission delegated to him as soon as possible, stressing that this fourth session will be a follow-up to discussing the agenda of the third session in the context and limits of the commission’s mandate and terms of reference, and is based on What was proposed by all parties during the last session.

Al-Bahra pointed out that the proposals and discussions of the representatives of the Negotiating Committee are based on constitutional and legal foundations, and are intended to help reach the drafting of constitutional contents later.
