Geneva..The Syrian Constitutional Committee approves a “code of conduct”
The Syrian Constitutional Committee approved, on Friday, in Geneva, a “code of conduct” that controls the work of its members and co-chairs, after it was discussed.
The committee’s meetings at the United Nations headquarters began distributing the code of conduct to the three groups of the regime, the opposition and civil society organizations, and it was discussed within each group, before moving to the session moderated by the UN envoy to Syria, Geir Pedersen, and its approval.
After that, the session was moderated by the co-chair of the opposition Hadi Al-Bahra, while it was moderated later by the co-chair of the regime, Ahmed Al-Kuzbari, and tension continued between the representatives of the two sides during the speeches in which the views differed.
After the expanded commission’s sessions ended, Al-Bahra said, “We ended the first meeting of the expanded committee with its 150 members, and the meeting was generally positive.”
