The start of the fifth round of meetings of the Syrian Constitutional Committee
The work of the fifth round of meetings of the Syrian Constitutional Committee began Monday at the United Nations office in Geneva, with the convening of the mini-committee entrusted with the task of drafting the constitution.
The committee’s mini-body consists of 45 members, with 15 members from each of the regime, the opposition and civil society organizations.
The first day’s session, which began at 9:30 GMT, is chaired by the United Nations Special Envoy for Syria, Geir Pedersen.
